The Swell Form Tactile Graphics machine is a simple, fast and low cost method of creating stunning tactile maps, diagrams, graphics, text and more! This machine has revolutionized the process of creating tactile images for the visually impaired.
How does it work?
Zychem has developed special Swell Touch paper that reacts to black ink and heat. When the paper, heat and ink work together, the black areas on the paper will swell. The result is a well defined and durable tactile graphic that can be shared over and over again. Free pre-made tactile diagrams can be downloaded at the tactilelibrary.com. You can also create your own graphics using a computer and printer/copier, or by using Swell Touch markers to draw custom tactile diagrams on the fly.
